In the past decades, there are more students diagnosed with special education needs (SEN) and with the implementation of main stream education model, there are more students with SEN placed in typical school settings. Only those with severe physical disabilities and mental disabilities will be placed in special schools. Those with severe disabilities would be managed school based OT at individual schools. This group is formed to facilitate change in the situation to serve SEN students in Hong Kong.
1. To identify the roles and function of school based OT
2. To promote the practice of school based OT in kindergarten, primary, secondary and tertiary education institutions
3. To provide guidelines on assessment of students with SEN (PEO model) at preschool, primary, secondary and tertiary Education
